The Challenge

Due to the departure of a previous bookkeeper, the accounts for the Company had fallen behind and had basically been unprocessed for two years. The ATO was seeking numerous returns that required the accounts to be brought up to date.

Our Solution

Based on data from numerous sources, the accounts were brought up to date using Xero accounting software. This required two years of data to be uploaded and reconciled in Xero so that the relevant returns could be prepared and submitted by Peter Bauerhuit as a BAS agent.

Our Results

At the end of the catch up period, the organisation was not only able to become compliant with the ATO, it was also in a better position to make strategic plans for the future and seek engagement with new partners such as and R&D expert to propel the organisation into its next stage of development.

“Peter Bauerhuit was recommended to us by our previous bookkeeper Ray at time when Ray was retiring due to ill health. Peter coordinated the handover process from Ray so that disruptions in service delivery were minimised.

As a Not for Profit organisation, we found that working with a bookkeeper was essential for good governance objectives. In Peter we found a very accessible resource, who could provide explicit information in plain English that enabled us to meet our ongoing governance requirements.

Peter continues to provide us with comprehensive reports monthly that clearly outlined the current and future position of our organisation that allowed us to focus our attention on the important fundraising objectives needed by all charitable organisations.

I am more than happy to recommend Peter Bauerhuit to any organisation, especially if they need help in managing their bookkeeping, financial reporting and governance requirements that allows them to focus on business goals.”
